Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicholson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Romano or perhaps it was just good defense by Nicholson, which made it look bad.
Nicholson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nicholson fakes the leg kick and cracks Romano in the body.
Nicholson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nicholson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Nicholson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Nicholson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Romano.

Romano takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nicholson stuffs the takedown attempt from Romano. Romano gets slowly back to his feet.
Romano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nicholson but Nicholson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nicholson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Romano's calf.
Nicholson feints and then cracks Romano's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Romano down.
A solid leg kick lands there for Nicholson.

Romano fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nicholson thuds his shin into the meat of Romano's side.
Romano gets tackled into the ropes by Nicholson. Nicholson maintains the clinch.
Nicholson lands an elbow inside that Romano shrugs off.
Romano jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nicholson walks away with a smile on his face. Romano gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Romano shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Romano showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nicholson tries to kick Romano off but Romano keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Nicholson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Romano scores with a couple of nice shots.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nicholson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nicholson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Romano throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Nicholson!
