Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and EL GUAPO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carano comes to the cage accompanied by Naveed. EL GUAPO is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, EL GUAPO!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GUAPO is looking to clinch but Carano is avoiding it.
GUAPO tries to clinch there but Carano circles away.
Carano swats away the attempt to clinch by GUAPO.
GUAPO avoids the body shot from Carano.
Carano wants to clinch.
GUAPO tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Carano counters with a nice leg kick.
Carano jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


It looks like EL GUAPO has been cut.
Carano throws a nice outside leg kick.
GUAPO misses with a two punch combination.
Carano throws a sloppy head kick and GUAPO moves out of range easily.
GUAPO is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
GUAPO tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carano swivels and escapes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice takedown defense from Carano. No joy for GUAPO on that attempt.

and Carano counters with a lovely straight right hand!
EL GUAPO seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

GUAPO shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Carano manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Carano manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Carano counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps GUAPO thinking.

Carano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with GUAPO but GUAPO pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No luck for GUAPO with that takedown attempt.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and GUAPO counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carano won't be happy with that.

Carano has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. GUAPO is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

GUAPO swings wildly with an uppercut but Carano uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
GUAPO wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carano has him pressed against the cage.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Carano for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
GUAPO is looking to control Carano's arms but Carano gets an underhook and turns him. Now GUAPO has his back to the cage.
GUAPO can't break the clinch.
GUAPO's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Carano stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
GUAPO has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Carano avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
GUAPO has had enough of the clinch but Carano keeps him there for the moment.

Carano moves in looking to clinch but GUAPO pushes him off.

Carano throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck GUAPO on the side of the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Carano creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

I would just about give that final round to EL GUAPO.
