Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robin Pratley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pratley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pusherman by Curtis Mayfield. The key to victory for Robin Pratley has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robin Pratley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Smith! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pratley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Smith is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Pratley is looking to improve his position.
Smith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Smith working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pratley wants to get back to his feet. Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pratley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Smith wants to pass the guard but Pratley is defending well. Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Smith passes the guard and advances to mount! Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Pratley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Pratley is looking to improve his position but Smith isn't that keen on the idea. Smith lands with some strikes. Smith cracks Pratley with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith raining down shots from the mount! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith raining down hammerfists from mount. Smith controlling from the full mount. Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Pratley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Smith working the ground and pound effectively.
Smith is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Smith!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Hugo Smith! After winning the bout, Hugo Smith thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
