Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ray Rice! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dustin Acton! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rice tries a head kick but it misses.
Acton clobbers Rice with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A jab lands there for Acton. Rice tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Acton was well out of range. Poor timing from Rice. Rice misses with a straight left. Acton defending well as Rice loads up on a big left hand. Acton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rice circles away quickly and effectively. Acton misses with a wild body shot. Rice misses with a body kick. Rice throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rice scores with a crisp jab that stopped Acton in his tracks. Rice misses with a head kick.
Rice throws a head kick but Acton moves out of range.
Rice tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Acton lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rice backs up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action! Rice slips a jab and a cross from Acton.
Ray Rice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice digs a good body shot into Acton's ribs. Rice lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rice jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rice swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rice takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rice misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fight stays on the outside here - Acton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A shot to the body from Rice misses and Acton counters with a two punch combo. Rice misses with an uppercut. Rice is breathing heavily. A big right from Rice misses. Acton connects with a crisp jab. Acton is looking to clinch. A big right from Rice misses. Acton swinging wildly here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Acton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acton misses with the combination.
Rice is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Acton's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Rice throws a head kick that misses. Acton avoids the head kick by Rice.
Rice just misses with a punch to the body.
Acton has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Acton looks to land a combination. Rice sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Rice swings for the body but Acton moves out of range.
Rice throws a lazy right hand but Acton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rice misses with a straight left. A head kick by Rice misses and Acton counters with a right hand to the body. Acton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Acton doesn't manage to clinch there - Rice circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acton fails in his attempt to clinch. Acton moves out of range of the strikes. Rice throws a hook to the side of Acton's head but Acton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rice definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Rice will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rice could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Acton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rice's hands. Acton wants to clinch up but Rice keeps it at a distance. Acton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rice swats him away and circles back towards the center. Acton has managed to clinch.
Acton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Acton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rice.
Rice's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rice duly obliges. Rice is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Acton.
Rice is rocked! Acton tries to close the distance and clinch but Rice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Oh Rice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Acton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rice, pushing him back against the cage. Rice seems to have got his legs back now. This has been an exciting period of action! Acton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Acton is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Acton connects with a superb combination that knocks Rice out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Acton before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Rice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dustin Acton!
