Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gilbert Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pan Tadeusz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tadeusz tries to close the distance and clinch but Pettis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tadeusz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pettis is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tadeusz off and has taken his back!
Pettis lands a shot to the body.

Pettis is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tadeusz is defending well though. Pettis let's go of the attempt for now.

Pettis looking to break Tadeusz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tadeusz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pettis will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Pettis lands with a hammerfist to the side of Tadeusz's head.

Pettis is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Tadeusz. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Pettis is looking for the choke from the back position but Tadeusz is controlling his hands well.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Tadeusz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pettis has Tadeusz flattened out and is raining down punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pettis has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Tadeusz has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tadeusz defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Pettis's arms.

Pettis is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tadeusz knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tadeusz for a finish.

Pettis is looking for the choke from the back position but Tadeusz is controlling his hands well.
Pettis lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Tadeusz.
Tadeusz manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pettis's guard. Nice work there by Tadeusz.

Pettis pushes Tadeusz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Pettis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tadeusz defends it nicely.

Pettis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tadeusz, pushing him back against the cage.

Pettis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tadeusz can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tadeusz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tadeusz manages to end up in side control.

Pettis seems a little lost for a moment, as Tadeusz dominates the positioning.

Tadeusz is refusing to be controlled, as Pettis sits in half guard.
Pettis works his foot free and advances to mount.
Tadeusz is bucking up trying to escape but Pettis cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tadeusz wants to control but Pettis is having none of it.

Pettis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tadeusz is looking to escape.

Pettis has hold of Tadeusz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tadeusz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Gilbert Pettis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pettis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

I would just about give that final round to Pan Tadeusz.
