Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mervin Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, CM Brizz!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brizz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brizz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Brizz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Brizz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tanner wants to stand but Brizz is controlling his posture from full guard.
Brizz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tanner controls the pace.
Tanner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brizz being controlled here, momentarily.
Tanner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tanner stands up from Brizz's guard - Tanner perhaps looking for a knockout.

Tanner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tanner decides to stand back up.
We've been informed that Brizz has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tanner.
Tanner throws a head kick but Brizz moves out of range.
Tanner shoots in for a takedown but Brizz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Brizz looking to score a takedown here. Tanner is defending well but Brizz drives through and ends up in Tanner's guard.
Tanner is pulling down on Brizz's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tanner is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brizz rolls with it to try and escape but Tanner cranks on the arm and Brizz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mervin Tanner!
