Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brent Perkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Smith! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith misses with a wild body shot. Smith lands with a right hand.
It looks like Brent Perkins has been cut. Perkins fails with a takedown attempt. Perkins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Perkins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Perkins is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perkins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Perkins sits in half guard. Perkins content to control rather than advance. Smith scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Perkins manages to mount him!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perkins with good strikes from the mount here! Perkins working Smith over with strikes here. Perkins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Smith to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Smith shrugs it off. Perkins looking to secure an arm triangle but Smith defends it well. Perkins controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith tries to buck Perkins off but Perkins takes his back! Smith is trapped and Perkins is scoring with shots to the head and body. Perkins is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Perkins gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Perkins struggling to keep hold of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith trying to get back to his feet but Perkins is in full control for now. Perkins trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Smith doesn't escape. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perkins has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Smith is in real trouble here. Perkins gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Perkins wins by rear naked choke!
