Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Marak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Kermodian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kermodian has chosen Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Marak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Kermodian! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marak wants to clinch up but Kermodian keeps it at a distance. Marak shoots in for a takedown but Kermodian shows good takedown defense. Kermodian thuds his right hand into Marak's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Marak shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kermodian as he jumps to the side. Marak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kermodian looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kermodian prevents Marak from improving position. Marak swings around for an armbar but Kermodian sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Marak's guard. Marak wants to sweep but no luck. Kermodian looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Marak wants to sweep but no luck. Kermodian sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kermodian must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Marak keeping full guard, as Kermodian tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kermodian controlling from the top position. Marak trying to strike off his back.
Kermodian controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Marak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kermodian is one step ahead there. Marak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kermodian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kermodian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kermodian sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Kermodian. Marak moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Marak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kermodian breaks the clinch.
Kermodian throws a jab when Marak was well out of range. Kermodian throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Horrible takedown by Marak or perhaps it was just good defense by Kermodian which made him look bad. Kermodian lands a nice hook to Marak's body. Marak takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marak shoots in and drives through. Kermodian sprawls well. Marak is breathing heavily. Marak gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Kermodian's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing. Marak tries for a kimura but Kermodian is defending well. Marak is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kermodian has escaped the position, nice work there. Kermodian keeps Marak under control for a moment. You can see the frustration on Kermodian's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Marak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kermodian keeps Marak under control for a moment. Marak is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kermodian is trying to escape and Marak transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kermodian is forced to tap! Nice work there by Marak! Very nice indeed!
