Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cletus Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is God Bless America. Gomes has chosen Go hard or Go home! as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cletus Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Austin Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson dodges the punch combination from Gomes.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gomes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Anderson. Anderson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gomes tries to escape but Anderson is in control.
Anderson tries to stand but Gomes is controlling his head.

Anderson misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Gomes is trying to get back to his feet.
Anderson decides to stand back up. Anderson steps back and let's Gomes get back to his feet.
Anderson closes the distance and clinches.
Gomes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anderson stands up and waves to Gomes to follow him.
Gomes doesn't manage to clinch there - Anderson circles away.
Anderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gomes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anderson, pushing him back against the cage.
Anderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gomes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Anderson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gomes uses from the top position.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.
Gomes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Anderson is proving hard to escape from.

Gomes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Anderson, up you get!
Gomes lands a nice hook to Anderson's body. Anderson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Anderson throws a front kick aimed at Gomes's knee but Gomes avoids it well.
Gomes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anderson.
Gomes tries to clinch up but Anderson circles away and keeps his distance.
Gomes swats away the attempt to clinch by Anderson.
Gomes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Gomes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gomes tries to stall but Anderson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Anderson is working for takedown but Gomes is calmly controlling the position for now.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Gomes digs a right hand underneath Anderson's ribcage. Anderson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Anderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gomes tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Anderson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gomes's knee momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gomes throws a series of punches but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson moves into the clinch.
Anderson is trying to drag Gomes to the mat but Gomes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cletus Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Anderson is keeping busy.
Anderson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Anderson is working for takedown but Gomes is calmly controlling the position for now.
Gomes is stalling here.
Anderson fails to pull guard.
Gomes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Gomes. No joy for Anderson on that attempt.

Anderson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
It looks like Cletus Anderson has been cut.
Anderson closes the distance but Gomes moves to the side
and Gomes counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Anderson! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Austin Gomes!
