Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Sanchez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Sanchez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Thomas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sanchez but great work by Thomas. Thomas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sanchez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Thomas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground. Thomas is looking to defend but Sanchez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Thomas! Sanchez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Thomas taps out and this one is all over!
