Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Albert Ford has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Roy Jones's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Albert Ford!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.

Ford's coach down at Pahuyuth Muay Thai 12 elite coaches was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ford's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones thows a huge punch but Ford dodges it nicely.
Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ford's head.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ford takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Ford.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones is trying to push Ford away but Ford has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Roy Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones feints a jab promting Ford to slip. Jones then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ford slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ford misses with a straight right.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Ford takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ford swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jones lunges at Ford with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ford's hand.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ford can do to turn this around?

Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Ford throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ford is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Albert Ford showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ford can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Ford is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ford manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Ford's guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Ford must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ford wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jones is looking for a triangle here but Ford uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Ford lands a strong strike to the head of Jones. That's dazed him! Ford looking to finish here. Jones is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Ford lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
