The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowenson scores with a decent looking hook.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pandarian fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nowenson avoids it really well and circles away.
Pandarian misses with a takedown attempt - Nowenson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pandarian avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pandarian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nowenson's waist but Nowenson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pandarian off to one side.
Arthur Nowenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Pandarian.

Pandarian closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nowenson's guard.

Nowenson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pandarian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nowenson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oh Nowenson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nowenson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pandarian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nowenson wants to sweep here but Pandarian controlling him for the moment.
Pandarian loads up on a big left hand. Nowenson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Pandarian looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nowenson can't hide his disappointment, as Pandarian celebrates the victory.
