Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Juan Estella! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergio Ramos! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Estella as he jumps to the side. Ramos goes for a double leg but Estella avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Estella continues to drive forward. Ramos pulls guard. Estella wants to control from the top but Ramos keeps moving. Estella is looking to work some ground and pound but Ramos has wrist control. Estella trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom. Estella throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Estella slips nicely into half guard. Estella is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estella wants to work for an arm triangle but Ramos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ramos is staying active underneath Estella, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Estella has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ramos pushes Estella off looking to stand but Estella dives back in and keeps control.
Ramos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Estella. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Estella trying to control the action but Ramos is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ramos tries to kick Estella off but Estella keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Estella throws a sloppy head kick and Ramos moves out of range easily. Juan Estella seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Estella throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Estella gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Estella misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Estella shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Estella's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Estella fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramos, pushing him back against the cage. Ramos tries to pull guard but Estella forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Estella stops a takedown attempt from Ramos.

Estella throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Estella looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ramos avoids the head kick by Estella.

Estella shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ramos but Ramos pushes him off and we're back to square one. Estella tries a head kick but it misses.

Estella shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramos sprawls well. He's pushed Estella's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Estella misses with a head kick.

Ramos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ramos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Estella sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ramos somewhat. Estella swats away the attempt to clinch by Ramos. Estella tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sergio Ramos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

He's pushed Ramos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Estella rushes Ramos and presses him up against the cage. Ramos has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Estella after a bit of a struggle. Estella is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ramos is defending well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Estella misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ramos.

Estella no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Juan Estella overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramos is posturing up here but Estella has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ramos tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ramos has to tap! Slick submission there by Estella!
