Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Askryn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clemens Schnur! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askryn shoots in and gets a takedown into Schnur's guard. Askryn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Askryn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Schnur's head. Askryn makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Askryn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Askryn with a nice head shot there. Askryn content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schnur not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askryn throwing strikes from guard but Schnur blocks nicely. Askryn sitting in guard here, content to control. Schnur working a defensive guard here.
Schnur is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Schnur has momentary wrist control but Askryn slips an elbow through the middle. Askryn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schnur's guard. Askryn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schnur! Askryn looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Askryn lands a nice shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Askryn lands a big shot there that rocks Schnur but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Askryn raining down shots from the mount! Schnur is bucking up trying to escape but Askryn cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Askryn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Askryn landing strikes, looking to finish! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Askryn tries to control but Schnur wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Askryn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Schnur looks a forlorn figure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Askryn scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Schnur?

Schnur is rocked! Askryn unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Schnur wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Askryn celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Askryn! A relieved looking Ben Askryn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
