Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denver Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Holy Grail. Scott Wilson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Wilson or perhaps it was just good defense by Carson, which made it look bad.
Carson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wilson rushes Carson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Carson has had enough of the clinch but Wilson keeps him there for the moment.
Wilson prevents the takedown attempt.
Wilson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carson.

Wilson pulls Carson into guard.
Wilson wants to sweep but no luck.
Carson is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control.
Carson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Carson with a flurry of punches that miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wilson has his foot on Carson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carson works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wilson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carson is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Carson throws a head kick that half lands.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wilson trying to land knees to the body.

Carson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wilson cracks Carson with an open hand slap.
Wilson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Carson back to the cage. Wilson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Denver Carson has been cut.
Wilson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carson is fending him off so far but Wilson persists. Nope, Carson circles away and we're back to standing.

A head kick misses from Carson.
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown but Carson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wilson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Denver Carson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Wilson.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Wilson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wilson is pressed up against the cage. Carson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wilson down to the mat. Wilson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Wilson misses with a takedown attempt - Carson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wilson has his takedown stuffed
and Carson counters with a head kick. That will keep Wilson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Wilson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Wilson closes the distance and clinches.

Wilson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carson after a bit of a struggle.
Carson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wilson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Carson takes the fight into the clinch.
Carson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wilson walks away with a smile on his face. Carson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wilson has a takedown stuffed.
Wilson takes a kick to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carson connects with a high kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Carson is looking to clinch but Wilson is avoiding it.
Some bone on bone action there as Carson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Carson fails in his attempt to clinch.

Wilson darts in and clinches Carson up against the cage.
Wilson wants to get back to striking at distance but Carson won't allow it.
Carson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wilson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Carson jumps guard and drags Wilson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Wilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Carson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wilson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Denver Carson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wilson manages to end up in side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wilson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Wilson is stalling here. Carson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Wilson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Carson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Wilson dives in and grabs Carson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carson pushes down on Wilson's head and hops out.

Wilson gets control of Carson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wilson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wilson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Carson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Carson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wilson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carson gets underhooks to prevent Wilson's takedown attempt.
Carson lands a left hand.

Carson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wilson is defending well.
Carson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wilson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Wilson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carson has time to react.

Carson jumps guard but Wilson stands there with Carson around his waist. Carson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wilson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carson's guard.
Wilson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Carson wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Wilson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carson's head.

Wilson is keen to just control but Carson is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Denver Carson.
I think Carson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
