Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Kyed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonston Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson blocks a head kick by Kyed.

Kyed closes the distance and clinches.

It looks like Jonston Johnson has been cut.

Kyed throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kyed misses with a knee strike.
Johnson is trying to break free.
Kyed tries a knee to the head but Johnson blocks it.
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kyed pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kyed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kyed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kyed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kyed is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kyed's back instead.

Johnson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kyed has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

What can Kyed do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Johnson shoots in but Kyed avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jonston Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kyed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson shoots for a takedown but Kyed saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kyed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kyed stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Kyed. No joy for Johnson on that attempt.
Kyed throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.

Kyed instigates a clinch.
Kyed throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms.
Johnson jumps guard but Kyed stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kyed using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kyed misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Johnson.
Johnson can't get the takedown.
Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kyed tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kyed looking to throw knees to the head but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson jumps guard but Kyed stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kyed is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Johnson gets control of Kyed's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Johnson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kyed off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kyed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kyed as he jumps to the side.
Kyed tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Kyed is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Kyed tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Kyed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Justin Kyed will probably get the nod.

Kyed has managed to clinch.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly.
Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kyed is one step ahead there.
Kyed knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kyed would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson wants to sweep here but Kyed controlling him for the moment.
Kyed has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kyed manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Kyed is keeping the position.
Johnson stops Kyed from standing up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kyed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kyed is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Kyed circles away and we're back to standing.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Kyed wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Kyed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Justin Kyed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Kyed swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Justin Kyed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonston Johnson.

Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kyed tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kyed to the ground. Kyed escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kyed!

Jonston Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kyed has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
