Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Massa Hurmaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Pulse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Massa Hurmaaja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Pulse! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurmaaja shoots in and drives through. Pulse sprawls well. Nice shot lands for Pulse. Hurmaaja tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pulse swivels and escapes. Pulse thuds a left hand into Hurmaaja's body. Pulse stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pulse wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Massa Hurmaaja. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pulse lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hurmaaja takes a step back to recover. Hurmaaja shoots in looking for a takedown. Pulse tries to sprawl out of it but Hurmaaja keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pulse manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hurmaaja. Hurmaaja throws an elbow but Pulse slips to the side and avoids it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pulse can't do much from the bottom here. Hurmaaja sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Pulse is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hurmaaja working away. The ground and pound from Hurmaaja seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Pulse is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hurmaaja wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pulse, who protects the arm well. Hurmaaja throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hurmaaja is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pulse knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hurmaaja working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurmaaja creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pulse sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Hurmaaja tries to move to mount but Pulse blocks the move with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pulse tries to buck Hurmaaja off but Hurmaaja is having none of it. Hurmaaja looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Hurmaaja is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pulse is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hurmaaja scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hurmaaja is looking to take a break and control but Pulse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hurmaaja in side control, throwing shots but Pulse defends. Hurmaaja is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pulse has escaped the position, nice work there. Hurmaaja is looking to take a break and control but Pulse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hurmaaja working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hurmaaja throws an elbow but Pulse slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulse takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Pulse is trying to get back to half guard. Hurmaaja scores with punches from side control. Pulse dodges the ground and pound from Hurmaaja. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hurmaaja trying to control the action but Pulse is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Massa Hurmaaja dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hurmaaja closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pulse tries to buck Hurmaaja off but Hurmaaja is having none of it. Hurmaaja tries for a kimura but Pulse is defending well. Hurmaaja lands a decent elbow from side control. We've been informed that Pulse has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Pulse gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice elbow there by Hurmaaja. Hurmaaja swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pulse is now in Hurmaaja's guard. A big mistake from Hurmaaja there, giving up the dominant position! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hurmaaja has his feet on Pulse's thighs here. He's pushed Pulse off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Pulse screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
