The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmiro looks to clinch

and Mcdonald counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mcdonald.
Belmiro doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Belmiro throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mcdonald uses it to pass to side control.

Belmiro has a hand on Mcdonald's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mcdonald takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Mcdonald bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Belmiro's guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mcdonald cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Belmiro is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcdonald has a good base and remains in mount.

Belmiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Mcdonald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Belmiro counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mcdonald is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Mcdonald shoots for a double leg takedown but Belmiro sprawls well. He's pushed Mcdonald's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
