Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Advice Mallard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben King!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallard scores with a nice strike.
King with a poor takedown
and Mallard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps King thinking.
A jab from Mallard does it's job there.
A head kick misses from Mallard.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! King crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mallard - the referee stops the clock and King gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mallard. King manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
King doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Mallard to counter with a crisp jab.
Mallard is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mallard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Mallard has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for King. Oh but Mallard has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! King goes limp - he's gone! Mallard jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
