Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Acelino Silva !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vroman Shikhar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva blocks a head kick by Shikhar.
A swing and a miss from Silva .
Shikhar has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Silva is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Shikhar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva .
Shikhar lands a nice looking body kick.
Silva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shikhar tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Shikhar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva 's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shikhar off to one side.

and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shikhar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shikhar misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Shikhar misses with a left hand
and Silva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shikhar thinking.
Shikhar thows a body kick. Silva tries to catch it but that hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shikhar momentarily.
Silva scores with a nice strike.
A head kick misses from Shikhar.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shikhar feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Silva 's calf.
Silva scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Shikhar is rocked!
Silva is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Shikhar like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Shikhar from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Acelino Silva !
