Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vicente Johnston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Trujillo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnston darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Trujillo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Johnston throws a big shot that misses.
Trujillo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnston looks to score with a jab to the body but Trujillo is just out of range.
Johnston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnston shoots in for a double leg but Trujillo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Johnston misses with a body shot.

Johnston gets caught napping as Trujillo dives in and scores a takedown. Johnston manages to retain guard.

Johnston is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Trujillo stays in close to Johnston's body and controls the position.
Johnston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Trujillo passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trujillo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnston is just riding it out for now. Trujillo eventually gives up the hold.
Johnston really is a fat lump.
Trujillo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Trujillo wants to work for an arm triangle but Johnston is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Johnston is staying active underneath Trujillo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Trujillo is working for a submission of some sort.
Johnston is looking for a sweep. Trujillo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnston is looking to control Trujillo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnston avoid being mounted?

Trujillo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnston defends it well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnston is in trouble now - Trujillo has advanced to mount!
Johnston wants to control but Trujillo is having none of it.
Trujillo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

and Trujillo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Trujillo.

Johnston is looking to break free of the clinch but Trujillo has double underhooks.

Johnston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Trujillo stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnston. Johnston gets slowly back to his feet.

and Trujillo moves into the clinch.
Johnston is trying to force a seperation but Trujillo has the dominant position.
Johnston wants to break free but Trujillo has control.

Johnston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Trujillo shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnston manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trujillo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Trujillo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Trujillo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnston throws out the jab.
Trujillo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Johnston connects with a body shot that sends Trujillo's belly button to the back.

Johnston shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Trujillo pinned against the cage. Trujillo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Johnston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trujillo moves out of range as Johnston strikes.
Johnston throws the left hand but Trujillo avoids the punch easily.

Trujillo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnston's guard.
Trujillo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Trujillo stays in close to Johnston's body and controls the position.
Johnston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trujillo is one step ahead there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Johnston lands the left hand.
Trujillo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnston tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnston shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trujillo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Johnston tries to clinch up but Trujillo circles away and keeps his distance.

Trujillo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Trujillo feints and as Johnston raises his hands in defense, Trujillo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

I've got Trujillo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
