Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morten Guldhammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morten Guldhammer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Morten Guldhammer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guldhammer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James misses with a jab, cross combination.
Guldhammer scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Guldhammer misses with a few strikes there.
Guldhammer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. James showed some decent athleticism there.
James not doing much here.
James seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guldhammer for as long as he can get away with.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guldhammer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Guldhammer tries to roll over but James keeps him under control.
Guldhammer is trying to stand.
James working Guldhammer over with strikes.
James throwing shots but Guldhammer is blocking nicely.
Guldhammer is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Guldhammer misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Guldhammer throws a one two combo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guldhammer moves out of range of the body kick from James.

Guldhammer closes the distance and clinches.

Guldhammer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Guldhammer misses with a few strikes there.
James goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guldhammer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
James fails to land with a series of punches.
Guldhammer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Guldhammer.
A nice combination there by James.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guldhammer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.
Jesse James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morten Guldhammer.
James throws a low kick but Guldhammer moves out of range easily.

James darts in and clinches Guldhammer up against the cage.

Guldhammer manages to break the clinch.
Guldhammer jabs at James's body.
Nice sprawl there from Guldhammer as James shoots in.
Guldhammer fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
James goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A combination from James does no damage.
Guldhammer misses with a head kick.

James pushes Guldhammer up against the cage in a clinch.
James tries for a takedown but Guldhammer manages to get underhooks.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Guldhammer with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Guldhammer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Guldhammer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Guldhammer keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
Guldhammer wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and James manages to pass to side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Guldhammer is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him
James works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James landing strikes from the mount and Guldhammer is in trouble!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesse James will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Guldhammer fails with a takedown attempt.

James throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guldhammer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. James is in Guldhammer's guard.

James decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Guldhammer, up you get!
Morten Guldhammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guldhammer blocks a head kick by James.
A head kick misses from Guldhammer.
Jesse James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James slaps away a takedown attempt from Guldhammer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guldhammer moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Guldhammer!
Guldhammer tries to buck James off but he can't manage it.
James trying to control but he's not successful this time.
James is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Guldhammer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
James content just to control the position here.
Jesse James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
BOOM! James connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to control but Guldhammer wriggling away.

James is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by James!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jesse James!
