The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mandrill connects with a solid leg kick.
Rento misses with a low kick.
Rento throws out a loose jab but Mandrill uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've been informed that Mandrill has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Rento shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Mandrill is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

enabling Rento to counter with a crisp jab.

Mandrill misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rento.
Mandrill gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Rento counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Mandrill to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Rento!

After winning the bout, Reijo Rento thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
