Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Duff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyt Flarkgaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duff kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Carmina Burana. Donald Duff could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hoyt Flarkgaard's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flarkgaard clobbers Duff with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Duff shoots for a double leg takedown but Flarkgaard sprawls well. He's pushed Duff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Flarkgaard throws a left and a right that both miss
and Duff counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Duff works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Flarkgaard told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Flarkgaard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duff has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flarkgaard has managed to get both his arms back between Duff's legs - danger averted.

Duff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flarkgaard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Duff is looking for a triangle but Flarkgaard pushes his legs off easily.
Duff working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flarkgaard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flarkgaard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Duff is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Flarkgaard is aware though and is defending well.

Duff isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Flarkgaard stacks Duff on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Flarkgaard!
