PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randy Slader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slader comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - Walk. Kilpatrick is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gentleman. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Luke Kilpatrick enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Slader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Luke Kilpatrick!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slader sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Slader.
Slader avoids the head kick by Kilpatrick.
Slader waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kilpatrick.
Slader ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Slader swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slader is looking to score with low kicks.
Kilpatrick's coach down at Pain was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kilpatrick's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Slader avoids the head kick by Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick moves out of range as Slader throws a body kick.
Slader throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kilpatrick drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Slader avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Slader wants to sweep but no luck.
Kilpatrick distracts Slader with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Slader is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Slader keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kilpatrick's head.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slader accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Slader has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Slader wants to improve his position but Kilpatrick is controlling well.

That was a close round but I would say that Randy Slader will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Luke Kilpatrick has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slader connects with a nice short shot to Kilpatrick's temple.

That's time! Slader's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Slader is staying active underneath Kilpatrick, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Slader has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kilpatrick is working away from the top position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Slader crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kilpatrick - the referee stops the clock and Slader gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kilpatrick. Slader manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Slader's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kilpatrick under the eye.
Kilpatrick throws a nice inside leg kick.
A clash of legs there as Slader blocks the low kick.
Kilpatrick tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Slader connects with a body shot that sends Kilpatrick's belly button to the back.
Kilpatrick misses with an attempted mid kick.
Slader dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kilpatrick. That did some damage!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Luke Kilpatrick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Slader has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
