The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.
McGregor throws a looping overhand right but Silva ducks down to avoid it.
Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McGregor.
Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McGregor.
Gunnar McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva gets caught napping as McGregor dives in and scores a takedown. Silva manages to retain guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McGregor has eaten all the pies!
McGregor postures up.
McGregor lands a couple of digs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but McGregor uses it to pass to side control.

McGregor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Silva tries to buck McGregor off but McGregor is having none of it.

Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGregor on the ground.
McGregor throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

McGregor misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
McGregor connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Silva some visible discomfort.
McGregor creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Silva sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but McGregor drags him back down.
McGregor cracks Silva with a big elbow.
McGregor grinds an elbow into Silva's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGregor working the strikes but Silva uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Silva is breathing heavily.

McGregor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McGregor is trying for a kimura here. Silva looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! McGregor wins by kimura!
