Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey McMahon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Uninen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uninen has chosen Apocalyptica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. The key to victory for Mickey McMahon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey McMahon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Matti Uninen! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uninen cracks McMahon with a good jab. Excellent takedown into side control there by Uninen. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! McMahon tries to strike but it doesn't land. Uninen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McMahon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Uninen trying to control the action but McMahon is working from the bottom. McMahon is looking for a sweep. McMahon is letting Uninen control him for a moment. Uninen decides to stand up, so the ref orders McMahon to his feet. McMahon closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Matti Uninen has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McMahon cracks Uninen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Uninen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McMahon. McMahon looks to land a combination but Uninen avoids it well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's one minute gone in the round. Uninen shoots in and drives through. McMahon sprawls well. Uninen shoots for a takedown but McMahon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Uninen looks gassed! Uninen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Uninen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. McMahon clinches up with Uninen and pushes him back against the cage. Uninen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McMahon has Uninen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McMahon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Uninen tumbling to the mat - McMahon dives into Uninen's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McMahon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McMahon trying to control the position from guard on top but Uninen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McMahon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Uninen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McMahon is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Uninen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McMahon's back instead. McMahon tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! McMahon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Uninen goes for an armbar but McMahon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McMahon. Uninen looking for a guillotine here but McMahon defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uninen keeping moving, preventing McMahon from controlling successfully. McMahon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Uninen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McMahon manages to get himself to full guard.
Uninen trying to control the position from guard on top but McMahon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uninen stopping the sweep attempt from McMahon. McMahon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McMahon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Uninen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McMahon has his foot on Uninen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Uninen works his way back into a safe position though. McMahon working for a triangle but Uninen defends it easily.
Uninen with a nice head shot there. Uninen wants to control from the top but McMahon keeps moving. McMahon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Uninen is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McMahon keeping moving, preventing Uninen from controlling successfully. Uninen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Uninen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. McMahon looking for a guillotine here but Uninen defends easily.
Uninen wants to control from the top but McMahon keeps moving. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McMahon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McMahon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uninen's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mickey McMahon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matti Uninen's cut. That's time! McMahon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Uninen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. McMahon tries to hold on but Uninen pushes him away. Uninen controlling the position easily from mount. The referee warns McMahon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Uninen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McMahon has managed to escape the submission attempt.
McMahon tries to hold on but Uninen pushes him away. McMahon gets back to half guard. McMahon is trying to control but can't.
Uninen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McMahon is just riding it out for now. Uninen eventually gives up the hold. McMahon tries to get to full guard but Uninen has control of the leg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uninen stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McMahon to get to his feet. Nice takedown defense from McMahon. No joy for Uninen on that attempt. McMahon lands with a cross. Uninen takes a jab right on the kisser.
McMahon sizes up Uninen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. McMahon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uninen swats him away and circles back towards the center. McMahon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Uninen's head. No joy there for McMahon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McMahon tries to bum rush Uninen with a series of wild strikes but Uninen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McMahon closes the distance and lands a one-two. Uninen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Uninen tries to clinch and McMahon counters with a series of strikes. Uninen will be more careful next time no doubt. Mickey McMahon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Uninen rushes McMahon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. McMahon working aggressively here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. McMahon has had enough of the clinch but Uninen keeps him there for the moment. Uninen is pressed up against the cage. McMahon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Uninen down to the mat. Uninen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Uninen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McMahon is refusing to be controlled, as Uninen sits in half guard. Uninen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McMahon has managed to free his arm - good work. McMahon looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Uninen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McMahon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. McMahon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uninen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Uninen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Uninen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McMahon pinned against the cage. McMahon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice straight punches there by McMahon. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of McMahon. McMahon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Uninen but Uninen pushes him off and we're back to square one. Uninen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McMahon! Uninen trying to control but he's not successful this time. McMahon working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McMahon throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Uninen get's back to his feet. Uninen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. McMahon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McMahon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McMahon is looking for a triangle but Uninen pushes his legs off easily.

Matti Uninen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Matti Uninen's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Uninen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Uninen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Uninen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Uninen keeps the fight on the outside. Uninen on the wrong end of a nice hook. Uninen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. McMahon lands a two punch combo.
McMahon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Uninen tries to control but McMahon manages to take his back. McMahon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

McMahon has good solid back control here. Uninen prevents McMahon from getting a body triangle.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McMahon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Mickey McMahon is winning the standup battle so far. McMahon misses with the combination.
McMahon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. McMahon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Uninen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Uninen fails to land the takedown. Uninen takes one to the side of the head.
Uninen has a takedown stuffed. Mickey McMahon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matti Uninen. McMahon works over Uninen's head and body with a nice combination. McMahon looks to throw the jab but Uninen is out of range. Uninen looks to clinch and McMahon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. McMahon throws a shot from downtown. Uninen moves away and avoids it. Uninen connects with a solid leg kick. Uninen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McMahon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. McMahon wants to control but Uninen postures up. Matti Uninen has got the better of the ground game so far. McMahon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Uninen stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. McMahon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uninen feints and as McMahon raises his hands in defense, Uninen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Uninen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Uninen trying to control but McMahon is working from the bottom. McMahon keeping full guard, as Uninen tries to pass. McMahon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Uninen manages to get himself to full guard.

McMahon works over Uninen with some ground and pound from guard. McMahon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uninen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Uninen looking to control.
Uninen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McMahon moves out of range of the leg kick from Uninen. McMahon lands a nice shot to the body.
Uninen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McMahon.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mickey McMahon. I think McMahon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
