Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Watt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watt comes to the cage accompanied by Edmund Fitzgerald. Scott Watt has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Watt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marco Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watt throws a leg kick which misses Taylor's front leg but catches the back leg as Taylor tries to avoid it.

Watt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Taylor, pushing him back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Taylor fails to land.
Watt tries to pull guard but Taylor won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Taylor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Taylor drops down looking for an ankle pick but Watt pulls his leg out and moves away.
Watt wants to clinch
and Taylor counters with a body kick that stops Watt in his tracks momentarily.

Taylor moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watt blocks a body shot from Taylor.

Watt pulls guard successfully.
Taylor throwing strikes from guard but Watt blocks nicely.
Taylor looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Watt keeps moving.
Taylor sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Watt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Watt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Taylor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Watt manages to get himself to full guard.

Watt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor trying to control but Watt is working from the bottom.
Watt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Taylor's guard.


Watt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Taylor, up you get!
Watt misses with a head kick.
Watt wants to clinch up but Taylor keeps it at a distance.
Watt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Taylor defends well and Watt ends up having to push Taylor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Watt tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Taylor avoids it.
Watt is stalling here.
Taylor using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Watt has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Taylor avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Watt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taylor is trying to stall.

Watt pulls guard effortlessly.
Watt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Taylor stopping the sweep attempt from Watt.
Watt tries to strike from the bottom.
Watt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Taylor has gone for a leg lock! Watt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Taylor's guard.

Watt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Watt gets to his feet - Taylor follows without any prompting.
Jab by Watt.
Watt wants to clinch up but Taylor keeps it at a distance.
Watt looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Watt buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Taylor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Watt tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Taylor avoids it.
Watt using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Watt pulls guard effortlessly.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Watt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Watt working over Taylor with some ground and pound. Taylor looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Watt dominated that round.

Taylor dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Watt defending well as Taylor loads up on a big left hand.
Taylor circles away from the clinch attempt.

Watt gets tackled into the cage by Taylor. Taylor maintains the clinch.
Watt is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Taylor is defending well for now.
Watt landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Watt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Taylor regains guard immediately.
Watt wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position.
Watt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Watt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Watt makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Watt works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Watt decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Watt clinches up against the cage.
Watt trying to land knees to the body.
Taylor has had enough of the clinch but Watt keeps him there for the moment.
Watt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Taylor can do to turn this around?
Taylor avoiding damage as Watt throws knees to the body.
Taylor takes an elbow to the forehead.
Watt stalling.
Taylor goes for a takedown in the clinch but Watt prevents it.

Watt manages to pull guard.
Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Watt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Watt wants to stand but Taylor is controlling the position.
Watt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taylor manages to get himself to full guard.

Taylor keeping moving, preventing Watt from controlling successfully.

Watt stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Scott Watt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Taylor is breathing heavily.

Taylor instigates a clinch.
Watt tries for a takedown but Taylor manages to get underhooks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taylor fails to pull guard.

Watt throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Taylors head.
Taylor takes an elbow to the temple.
Taylor is looking to break free of the clinch but Watt has double underhooks.
Taylor tries for a takedown but Watt manages to get underhooks.
Scott Watt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Taylor.

Watt gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Watt lands with a punch from half guard.
Watt scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Watt works his way into side control.

Watt has hold of Taylor's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Taylor seems comfortable defending it but Watt has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Taylor is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Taylor is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Watt couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Scott Watt!
A relieved looking Scott Watt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
