Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noah Sauvageau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Soto! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soto takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sauvageau definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Sauvageau scores with a shot to the body.
Sauvageau fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Sauvageau throws a one two combo.
Soto misses with a hook to the body
and Sauvageau counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Soto will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Soto throws a series of punches but Sauvageau moves out of range. Soto throws a right hand that misses
and Sauvageau makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sauvageau jabs at Soto's body. Soto walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Soto throws a series of punches but Sauvageau avoids them all with ease. Soto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sauvageau.
Sauvageau stuns Soto with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sauvageau throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Soto looks winded! Sauvageau showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Soto.
Soto takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sauvageau works the jab nicely.
It looks like Steven Soto has been cut. Steven Soto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Soto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Soto is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sauvageau closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Soto! Sauvageau dives in looking to finish! Soto is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Noah Sauvageau! During a confident post fight interview, Noah Sauvageau thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
