Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Hawking!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hawking.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Smith throws a strike aimed at the side of Hawking's head but Hawking avoids it well.
Hawking is trying to control Smith's posture but Smith avoids it.

Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawking is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hawking is not content to let Smith control the position.
The ground and pound from Smith seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hawking parries the strikes from Smith easily there. Smith is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hawking to escape.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Smith throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hawking wants to get back to his feet.

Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hawking knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hawking is trying to improve his position.
Hawking is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Smith is controlling him well.

Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawking, who protects the arm well.
Hawking can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hawking throws a front kick that sends Smith stumbling back into the ropes.

Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Hawking sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hawking throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Hawking tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Hawking manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith on the wrong end of a nice jab.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hawking throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.
Terry Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hawking throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.
Nice defenses there by Smith.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters circling - Hawking throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

I think Hawking has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
