Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, James McGuiness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Il Sung!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Il Sung displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McGuiness throws out the jab.
McGuiness scores with a jab.
McGuiness lands with an overhand left.
McGuiness looks to throw the jab but Il Sung is out of range.
A right-left combo lands from McGuiness.
McGuiness misses with a double jab.
McGuiness misses with a looping left.
Il Sung closes the distance and clinches up with McGuiness, looking for a takedown. Il Sung pushes McGuiness against the cage but McGuiness circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Il Sung needs to keep his hands up - McGuiness had a free shot at his head there.
McGuiness looks to throw the jab but Il Sung is out of range.
McGuiness swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Il Sung counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Il Sung looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Il Sung has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Il Sung trying to control but McGuiness is working from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Il Sung seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McGuiness slips a jab from Il Sung.
Il Sung moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
James McGuiness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Il Sung throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McGuiness loads up on a big right hand but Il Sung slips the punch.
Il Sung avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sloppy strikes from McGuiness. Those never looked like landing.

McGuiness trying to control the position but instead, Il Sung has worked for underhooks and has pushed McGuiness into the cage.

Il Sung misses with the head strike.
Il Sung lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McGuiness backwards.
Il Sung struggles to land a body shot inside as McGuiness controls his hands.
Il Sung jumps guard but McGuiness stands there with Il Sung around his waist. Il Sung gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Il Sung throws a head punch that misses.
Il Sung drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James McGuiness has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Il Sung.
McGuiness struggles to land a body shot inside as Il Sung controls his hands.

Il Sung lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Il Sung misses with a hook from the clinch.
McGuiness is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
McGuiness is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
McGuiness tries to stall but Il Sung uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McGuiness takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Il Sung shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McGuiness manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Il Sung is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McGuiness sees it coming and defends easily.

McGuiness wants to get back to full guard but Il Sung has mounted him!

Il Sung looking to control but McGuiness is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kim Il Sung has got the better of the ground game so far.
Il Sung is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McGuiness can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Il Sung wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
McGuiness is squirming around, avoiding Il Sung's attempts to control the action.

Il Sung looking to ground and pound but McGuiness is blocking nicely.
Il Sung thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Il Sung goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McGuiness is on top in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Il Sung escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGuiness gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Il Sung showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! McGuiness's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


McGuiness is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Il Sung.
Il Sung fails in his attempt to clinch.
McGuiness misses the jab.
Il Sung ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McGuiness seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

McGuiness catches Il Sung with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
McGuiness uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Il Sung.
Il Sung looks for a takedown but McGuiness sprawls well.
Il Sung's coach down at LOD: Novae was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Il Sung's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Il Sung takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McGuiness is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

McGuiness throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Il Sung stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Il Sung drops his hands momentarily and McGuiness takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Il Sung counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Il Sung tries to score with some ground and pound. McGuiness controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Il Sung is looking to take a break and control but McGuiness is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Il Sung content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

James McGuiness showed his dominance in that final round.
