Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Kohl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinny Mack will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Kohl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinny Mack!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mack scores with a jab to the head.
Mack has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kohl shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mack as he jumps to the side.
Kohl shoots in and drives through. Mack sprawls well.
Kohl scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kohl looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kohl wants to clinch up but Mack keeps it at a distance.
Mack swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Mack moves into range and clinches up with Kohl.
Kohl wants to break free but Mack has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mack breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mack tries to clinch there but Kohl circles away.
Kohl falls off balance throwing a combination

and Mack counters with a crisp one two that drops Kohl! Mack thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kohl to his feet! Kohl is in big trouble!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kohl takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kohl tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mack sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kohl somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Kohl. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mack rushes Kohl and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mack manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Mack lands a nice knee to the body.
Kohl prevents a body shot from Mack.
Mack lands a left hand.
Mack landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Mack breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kohl tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mack fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kohl, pushing him back against the cage.
Mack gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kohl.
Mack prevents Kohl from breaking the clinch.

Mack breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kohl throws a lazy body kick
letting Mack counter with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kohl throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mack's waist but Mack gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kohl off to one side.
Mack fails to land with a series of punches.
Kohl shoots in for a takedown but Mack shows good takedown defense.
Mack misses with a head kick.
Kohl throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mack throws a head kick that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kohl looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mack!

Kohl tries for a kimura but Mack is defending well.
Mack is trying to improve his position.
Mack manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kohl is looking to control Mack's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kohl avoid being mounted?
Kohl misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mack seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Kohl has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mack is working away from the top position though.
Mack wants to stand but Kohl has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Mack postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kohl to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vinny Mack dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mack tries to clinch but Kohl moves out of range.
Mack has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mack has Kohl up against the cage in a clinch.
Kohl's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Kohl is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mack is defending well.
Mack prevents the takedown attempt.
Kohl jumps guard but Mack turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Kohl. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mack is leaning against Kohl and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Mack makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mack manages to break the clinch.
Mack connects with an inside leg kick.

Mack moves into the clinch.

Mack breaks from the clinch.
Mack lands with a shot to the body.
Matt Kohl is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kohl tries for a takedown but Mack sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kohl takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Mack lands a big head kick that sends Kohl tumbling to the mat! Mack takes a step backwards and waves Kohl back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Kohl is rocked!
Kohl has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mack.
Oh Kohl is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mack gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Mack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mack drops Kohl with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Kohl! Mack dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vinny Mack!
