Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Duncan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Paul Fish! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish works the jab nicely. Duncan fails with the takedown and Fish counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Duncan with a lazy takedown attempt and Fish counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Duncan shoots and misses and Fish counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duncan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The strikes coming from Duncan are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Fish is looking to regain half guard here but Duncan keeps moving and retains side control. Great action here. Fish is bucking up trying to escape but Duncan cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Duncan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Duncan scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Fish?
Poor strikes thrown by Duncan there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Duncan unloads with some shots from mount but Fish bucks and avoids them well.
Fish is looking to get to half guard. Fish is still trying to improve position. Fish told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Duncan scoring with strikes but Fish is staying in there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fish regains half guard. Duncan wants to take a breather but Fish is having none of it. Fish is looking for a sweep. Duncan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Duncan seems to be looking for submissions.

Duncan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Fish wants to control but Duncan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Fish is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Duncan is looking to take a break and control but Fish is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Duncan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fish works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Duncan preventing the sweep. Duncan with a flurry of punches that miss. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Duncan throws a strike but Fish rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Fish wants to get up but he can't break Duncan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Duncan controls Fish momentarily but Fish frees himself. Fish passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fish performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Duncan is refusing to be controlled, as Fish sits in half guard. Duncan is looking to improve his position.
Duncan is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Bi-polar Asylum, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Duncan is working hard here to advance position. Fish is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Duncan missing with punches from the bottom.

Eddie Duncan dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Fish scores with a one two! Duncan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Duncan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Fish. Fish connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Duncan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fish was covering up waiting for the punch and Duncan finishes the takedown easily into guard. Duncan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Fish trying to keep a closed guard but Duncan is proving a slippery customer.
Fish wants to stand but Duncan is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Eddie Duncan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fish is thwarting Duncan's attempts to control the position.

Duncan is in trouble now - Fish has advanced to mount! Fish punishing his opponent with strikes. Fish is landing with some decent strikes but Duncan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Fish landing strikes from the mount. Duncan is wriggling around trying to escape.
The referee warns Duncan that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fish sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Duncan flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Duncan wants to hold on but Fish pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fish content just to control the position here. Duncan is looking to get to half guard. Fish wants to control the pace but Duncan is squirming around nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Duncan is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fish lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Duncan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Duncan throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Fish is thwarting Duncan's attempts to control the position. Fish trying to advance position but Duncan counters by regaining guard. Duncan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Duncan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Duncan keeping moving, preventing Fish from controlling successfully. Fish with a flurry of punches that miss. Fish scoring with punches to the head and body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fish wants to pass the guard but Duncan is keeping the position. Duncan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Fish working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Fish is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Duncan tries to strike from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Eddie Duncan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Duncan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fish as he avoids it easily. Fish feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Duncan's calf. Fish manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duncan on his heels. He'll look to pass Duncan's guard now, I'm sure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Paul Fish showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Fish stuffs the takedown attempt from Duncan. Duncan gets slowly back to his feet. Fish has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Duncan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fish counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Duncan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fish is fending him off so far but Duncan persists. Nope, Fish circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Duncan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duncan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fish swivels and escapes. Fish chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Duncan misses with a takedown attempt and Fish counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Duncan thinking. Fish throws a head kick that half lands.
Duncan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fish is fending him off so far but Duncan persists. Nope, Fish circles away and we're back to standing. Fish keeps Duncan at a distance using the push kick. Duncan forces Fish back against the cage and clinches. A left hand lands to the body for Fish.

Fish lands with a short head shot on the inside. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Duncan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Fish listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Jon Paul Fish seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fish sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Fish connects with an inside leg kick. Fish lands with a kick to the temple. Duncan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Fish closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fish stands up and we're back to a striking position. Fish lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Duncan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Duncan with a poor takedown and Fish counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fish scores with a sloppy right hand. Duncan should have avoided that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Duncan takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Duncan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Fish bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Duncan's head backwards. Fish throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. A shot to the liver by Fish. Beautiful body shot. Fish shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fish was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Duncan stops Fish from passing to mount. Fish scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Duncan to see if he's OK. Fish working away. Fish has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Duncan! Fish working Duncan over with strikes here. Duncan tries to get back to half guard but can't. Fish controlling his opponent. Fish breaks from Duncan's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Fish can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Duncan is looking to escape. Duncan slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duncan has his hands clasped together around Fish's back. He's all about the action. Duncan wants to improve his position but Fish is controlling well.
Duncan flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Fish stops Duncan from getting back to his feet.
Fish content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Duncan punching from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Paul Fish comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fish has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
