Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Irchie Kast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Figg! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kast leaves Figg with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Figg fails in his attempt to clinch. Kast jabs at Figg's body. Figg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kast moves away. Kast stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kast wants it to stay on the feet. Kast is looking to chop away at Figg's legs. Kast throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Figg on the side of the head. Kast swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kast shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Figg eats them both and turns towards Kast to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Figg misses with a right hand letting Kast counter with a right hand. Figg moves forwards but Kast connects with a nice, crisp jab. Figg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Figg dives in and grabs Kast's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kast pushes down on Figg's head and hops out. Irchie Kast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Figg. Kast slips a jab from Figg. Figg ducks right into an uppercut from Kast. Kast pivots, looking for a leg kick but Figg is out of range and Kast settles back down.

and Kast counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Figg throws a combination that misses and Kast counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Figg throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kast counters with a left to the body. Figg looks winded! Kast uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Figg has time to react. Figg lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Figg blocks a leg kick. Figg doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A telegraphed right hand from Figg misses the target. Kast punishes Figg's body with a nice straight punch. A jab from Figg misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kast throws a shot to the body.

and Kast counters with a lovely straight right hand! Figg takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jab from Kast. Kast lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Figg circles away quickly and effectively. Kast connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Figg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kast is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. A shot to the body from Figg misses and Kast counters with a stiff right hand. Figg missing with a left hand there. Kast was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Kast takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Figg might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Figg is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kast. Figg throws a shot from downtown. Kast moves away and avoids it. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Figg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kast paws at him with a jab and circles away. Figg shoots for a double leg takedown but Kast sprawls well. He's pushed Figg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kast scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Figg doesn't seem bothered though. Figg throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Irchie Kast is winning the standup battle so far. Kast's jab looks to have found its range, popping Figg under the eye. Figg gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kast. Kast lands a lovely overhand right. Figg lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. This has been an exciting period of action! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Figg. Kast connects with a looping right hand.
Kast ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kast scores with the left hand. Figg knows he should have avoided that one. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Figg might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kast has got the better of the exchanges. Figg throws a series of punches but Kast avoids them all with ease. Figg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Kast counter with a right hand.

A low kick from Kast lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Figg has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Figg and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Kast misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Figg.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
