PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murilo Brito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alen Zalac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zalac comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Survival - Eminem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Murilo Brito has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Murilo Brito seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Murilo Brito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alen Zalac!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brito works the jab nicely.
Zalac dodges the punch combination from Brito.
Zalac throws a nice looking combination but Brito bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brito swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brito scores with a jab.
Brito connects with a single shot there.
Zalac has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Brito misses with a few strikes there.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zalac fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zalac throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zalac fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brito darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Some wild striking there from Zalac.
Brito tests Zalac's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zalac misses with a few strikes there.
Brito throws a series of punches but Zalac avoids them all with ease.
Brito displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Brito misses with a double jab.

A combination from Zalac does no damage.
Brito avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Zalac dodges the punch combination from Brito.
Brito lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Zalac backs up against the cage.
Zalac wants to slow Brito down by chopping away at his legs.
Brito has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zalac finds it's way round the side to connect with Brito's head.
Zalac fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Zalac throws a leg kick but Brito checks it.
Zalac tries to clinch but Brito moves out of range.
Brito fails to land with a series of punches.
Murilo Brito is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brito circles away from the clinch attempt.
Zalac tries to clinch but Brito is having none of it.
Zalac is looking to clinch but Brito is avoiding it.
Brito throws a right and a left that both miss.

Brito lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zalac drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Brito is trying to buck Zalac off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Zalac looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Brito is trying to improve his position.
Zalac working the head with strikes.
Brito gets back to half guard.

Brito looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Zalac is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brito doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zalac.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zalac connects with a nice short shot to Brito's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brito looking for submissions off his back.
Zalac is trying to control the action in half guard but Brito is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Zalac prevents Brito from standing back up.
Brito manages to get to full guard.
Zalac trying to control the position from guard on top but Brito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Zalac content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Brito escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zalac gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brito has an active guard here but Zalac has managed to pass into half guard.

Brito actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brito is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zalac pulls his head out easily.
Zalac works his foot free and advances to mount.
Zalac wants to control the pace but Brito is squirming around nicely.
Zalac breaks from Brito's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Zalac raining down hammerfists from mount.

Zalac is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brito can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Brito really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Zalac landing strikes from the mount.
Brito working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Murilo Brito will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


No joy there for Brito, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zalac misses with a wild combination.

Zalac drops Brito with a beautiful combination! Brito stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Zalac is looking for the KO!


Brito is rocked!


It looks like Murilo Brito has been cut.
Brito lands with a straight right. Zalac didn't see that one coming.
Oh Brito is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brito connects with a good right hand that stumbles Zalac. Zalac circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brito throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zalac lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alen Zalac!
Alen Zalac seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
