Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uali Kurzhez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saem Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Uali Kurzhez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Uali Kurzhez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saem Black!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black dodges the punch combination from Kurzhez.
Black stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Black wants it to stay on the feet.
Kurzhez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kurzhez.


It looks like Saem Black has been cut.

Kurzhez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurzhez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kurzhez throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range.

Kurzhez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Kurzhez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Black moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Black counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kurzhez is breathing heavily.
Black controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black throws a strike but Kurzhez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Black is adopting a defensive guard.
Black throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Black has his hands on Kurzhez's head, controlling the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Black is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kurzhez wants to get up but he can't break Black's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kurzhez throws a right and a left that Black avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kurzhez wants to get back to his feet.
Black throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kurzhez shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Uali Kurzhez will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Kurzhez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Black circles away quickly and effectively.
Uali Kurzhez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurzhez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Black on the side of the head.
Kurzhez tries to close the distance and clinch but Black swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kurzhez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Black tries to avoid it but Kurzhez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Black to the ground. Black escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Black cracks Kurzhez with a big right hand but Kurzhez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kurzhez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kurzhez tries to get out of the position.

Black tries to score with some ground and pound. Kurzhez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Black fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kurzhez is looking to regain half guard here but Black keeps moving and retains side control.
Black controls the position.
Black working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Black remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kurzhez is not content to let Black control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Saem Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
