Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namba Babakla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Namba Babakla told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babakla closes this distance looking for a takedown but Storm circles away. Babakla is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Storm is trying hard to land a takedown here. Babakla sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Storm fails with a takedown attempt. Babakla stuffs the takedown attempt from Storm. Storm gets slowly back to his feet. Babakla's coach down at Soco na mãe - Stand Up Striking was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Babakla's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mason Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him. Storm shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Babakla manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babakla throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Babakla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Storm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Babakla is tightening it up a little... Storm has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Storm reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Storm taps out! Nice BJJ there by Babakla!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Namba Babakla!
