Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoshi Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manfred Honeypott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manfred Honeypott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yoshi Suzuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manfred Honeypott! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suzuki shoots in looking for a takedown. Honeypott tries to sprawl out of it but Suzuki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Honeypott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Honeypott connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Nice straight punches there by Honeypott. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Honeypott. Honeypott dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Suzuki has a takedown stuffed. Yoshi Suzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Honeypott's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Honeypott duly obliges. Honeypott getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Honeypott dips to his left and cracks Suzuki with an uppercut! Suzuki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Honeypott defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshi Suzuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki tries for a takedown but Honeypott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Honeypott stalks Suzuki and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Suzuki's face. Suzuki staggers backwards, shaken. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Suzuki takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Suzuki takes a body punch but keeps moving. Suzuki on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. No luck with that takedown attempt from Suzuki. Suzuki takes one to the chin there. Honeypott cracks Suzuki with a good jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, jab by Honeypott - just one landing. Honeypott tries to sprawl but Suzuki drives through with a takedown into half guard. Suzuki sitting and controlling from the half guard. Suzuki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Suzuki looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Honeypott tries to get to full guard but Suzuki has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Honeypott is trying to maintain the position but Suzuki is very close to passing his half guard. Honeypott is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Suzuki is staying active. Suzuki wants to work for an arm triangle but Honeypott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Honeypott is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suzuki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Suzuki is thwarting Honeypott's attempts to control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Honeypott's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Honeypott duly obliges. Honeypott scores with a jab. Suzuki fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Honeypott lands with a nice combination. Suzuki backs away looking to recover. Suzuki scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Suzuki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Honeypott, who protects the arm well. Honeypott is letting Suzuki control him for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manfred Honeypott dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Suzuki shoots in looking for a takedown but Honeypott manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Suzuki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Suzuki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Suzuki takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Suzuki takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Honeypott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suzuki. Honeypott lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Honeypott. No luck for Suzuki with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshi Suzuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Honeypott's waist but Honeypott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suzuki off to one side. Suzuki on the wrong end of a nice hook. Suzuki shoots in for a takedown but Honeypott shows good takedown defense. Honeypott getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Suzuki with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Honeypott to score with a decent uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Honeypott keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Suzuki fails to land the takedown. Honeypott might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Honeypott scores with a nice head shot. Suzuki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Honeypott feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Suzukis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Manfred Honeypott seems to be getting the better of the standup. Suzuki shoots in for a takedown but Honeypott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Suzuki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Suzuki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Suzuki frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Suzuki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Suzuki has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suzuki looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Suzuki content just to control the position here. Honeypott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Suzuki looking to control and managing it successfully. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Suzuki seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Honeypott for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suzuki is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Honeypott is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Honeypott flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Suzuki anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Honeypott and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Suzuki slips an arm under Honeypott chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Suzuki has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Suzuki is squeezing on Honeypott like an anaconda would it's prey. Honeypott fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Yoshi Suzuki! Yoshi Suzuki decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
