Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vrando Vraganza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuomas Uusierkki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uusierkki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rob Zombie - Never Gonna Stop (The Red Red Kroovy). Tuomas Uusierkki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vrando Vraganza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tuomas Uusierkki! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uusierkki tries to clinch but Vraganza moves out of range. Uusierkki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Uusierkki showed some decent athleticism there. Uusierkki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Vraganza blocking the ground and pound attempt from Uusierkki. Uusierkki missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uusierkki working Vraganza over with strikes. Uusierkki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vraganza keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vraganza is trying to stand up here but Uusierkki is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uusierkki is just content to waste time from the top position. Vraganza takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Uusierkki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vraganza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Uusierkki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Uusierkki throwing strikes but missing. Uusierkki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vraganza is keeping the position for now. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Vraganza preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Uusierkki is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The fight stays on the outside here - Uusierkki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Vraganza is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Vraganza shoots in and bounces Uusierkki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Vraganza stopping the sweep attempt from Uusierkki. Vraganza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vraganza trying to control but Uusierkki is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uusierkki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vraganza drops back, looking for a kneebar! Uusierkki looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Uusierkki looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Uusierkki!
Uusierkki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Uusierkki working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Vraganza has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Uusierkki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uusierkki throws an elbow but Vraganza slips to the side and avoids it well. Uusierkki in side control, just content to control the action for now. Uusierkki is looking to take a break and control but Vraganza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vraganza wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vraganza tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Uusierkki cracks Vraganza with a good jab. Vraganza misses with a wild combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Vraganza. Vraganza swings around for an armbar but Uusierkki sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vraganza's guard. Uusierkki has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vraganza is looking for a triangle here but Uusierkki uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Vraganza gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vraganza is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vraganza defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Uusierkki. Uusierkki with shots to the head and body - Vraganza looks very uncomfortable down there. Vraganza slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Uusierkki wants to work for an arm triangle but Vraganza is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Uusierkki is looking for a kimura here.
Vraganza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Uusierkki pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uusierkki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Uusierkki landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Uusierkki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vraganza's head.

Vraganza tries to kick Uusierkki off but Uusierkki keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Uusierkki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vraganza's head. Vraganza looking for submissions off his back. Uusierkki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vraganza is just riding it out for now. Uusierkki eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Uusierkki is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vraganza has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uusierkki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vraganza does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Uusierkki stalling away here and it's allowed Vraganza to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Tuomas Uusierkki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Uusierkki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Uusierkki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Vraganza turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Uusierkki wants to control but Vraganza postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vraganza tries for a kimura but Uusierkki is defending well. An elbow from Vraganza crashes against the mat.

Vraganza missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Uusierkki keeping hold of Vraganza's head, controlling as best he can. Uusierkki moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Vrando Vraganza showed his dominance in that final round. I think Uusierkki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
