Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between lager Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manny Hatton will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, lager Assassin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Manny Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hatton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hatton looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Assassin has hold of one of Hatton's legs. Hatton is fighting the takedown attempt but Assassin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hatton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Assassin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Assassin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Assassin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Assassin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Assassin trying to control the position from guard on top but Hatton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Assassin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Assassin with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Assassin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Assassin showed some decent athleticism there.
Hatton is trying to stand up here but Assassin is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Assassin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Assassin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hatton defending well though.
Assassin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Assassin wants to work for an arm triangle but Hatton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Assassin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hatton is refusing to be controlled, as Assassin sits in half guard.
Assassin moves into full mount! Hatton won't be happy about that!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Assassin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Assassin controlling from mount.

Assassin has hold of Hatton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hatton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Assassin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Assassin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Assassin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hatton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Assassin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hatton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Assassin tries for a kimura but Hatton is defending well.
Hatton is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hatton is breathing heavily.
Assassin is looking to take a break and control but Hatton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Assassin throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Assassin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hatton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Assassin lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Assassin is working Hatton over with some ground and pound from side control.
Assassin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hatton keeps working.
Hatton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Assassin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Assassin landing a few strikes.
Assassin is looking to take a break and control but Hatton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Assassin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hatton for as long as he can get away with.

Assassin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Assassin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hatton is letting Assassin control him for a moment.
Assassin trying to control the position but Hatton is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

lager Assassin dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Assassin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Assassin lands in his opponent's guard.
Assassin trying to control the position from guard on top but Hatton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee stands the fighters back up. lager Assassin just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Assassin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Assassin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Assassin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Assassin lands a heavy elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Assassin landing strikes from the mount and Hatton is in trouble!

Hatton is bucking up trying to escape but Assassin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Assassin controlling from mount.
Hatton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Assassin has hold of Hatton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hatton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Assassin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Assassin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hatton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hatton is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Assassin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hatton is squirming around, avoiding Assassin's attempts to control the action.
Assassin lands a big elbow.
lager Assassin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Assassin working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Hatton looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Assassin! Submission of the night perhaps?
