Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hong Holden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derryl Karroki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong Holden has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hong Holden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derryl Karroki!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holden shoots for a double leg takedown but Karroki sprawls well. He's pushed Holden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Karroki misses with a double jab
and Holden counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Karroki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Holden circles away quickly and effectively.

Holden closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Karroki to the mat! Karroki manages to get full guard.
Holden lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Holden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Holden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Holden postures up in Karroki's guard and throws a big left but Karroki blocks it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Holden drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Holden jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Holden shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Karroki throws a nice looking combination but Holden bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Karroki throws a series of punches but Holden avoids them all with ease.

Holden drives through and clinches with Karroki against the cage.

Karroki manages to break the clinch.

Holden closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Karroki quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Holden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Holden looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Karroki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holden decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Holden dives in and scores a takedown into Karroki's guard.

Karroki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

so Holden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Holden stands up over Karroki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Holden gets to his feet - Karroki follows without any prompting.
Karroki falls off balance throwing a combination

and Holden counters with a shoot takedown. Karroki fights it but they end up in guard.
Holden controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Karroki is breathing heavily.

Holden lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Holden is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Holden keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Karroki's head.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Holden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karroki can do to turn this around?

Karroki wants to get back to striking at distance but Holden won't allow it.

Holden's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Holden seems to be working for a kimura but Karroki defends the submission attempt.

Holden is chipping away with strikes.
Holden lands a decent elbow from side control.

Holden decides to stand back up. Holden steps back and let's Karroki get back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Karroki enables Holden to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Karroki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Holden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hong Holden dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Holden drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Holden lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Karroki down.

Holden looks up at the clock and then as Karroki takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Holden smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that's the end of the fight!
Hong Holden showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Holden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
