Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocco Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocco Balboa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco moves into the clinch.
Balboa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Franco uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rocco Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Balboa enables Franco to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Balboa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Franco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Balboa can do to turn this around?
Franco got a little sloppy there for a moment and Balboa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Franco has managed to get both his arms back between Balboa's legs - danger averted.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Balboa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Franco has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
