Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Mooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Schartzmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klaus Schartzmann told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Mooney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Klaus Schartzmann! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mooney fails with a takedown attempt. Schartzmann dives in and scores a takedown into Mooney's guard. Schartzmann working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Schartzmann pushes down on Mooney's leg and manages to get into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schartzmann controlling the action here. Schartzmann stands up and beckons Mooney to join him on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schartzmann has managed to clinch.
Mooney's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's one minute gone in the round. Schartzmann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Schartzmann scores with a head kick. Mooney tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Josh Mooney has been cut. Schartzmann drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Schartzmann decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mooney, up you get! Schartzmann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mooney sprawls well initially but Schartzmann persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mooney looks like he's trying to stand up.
Well, if Schartzmann is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mooney wants to stand back up but Schartzmann manages to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mooney is trying to buck Schartzmann off. Mooney is not content to let Schartzmann control the position. Mooney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mooney is trying to buck Schartzmann off. Schartzmann decides to stand back up. Schartzmann closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mooney quickly recovers to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schartzmann decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Mooney tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schartzmann swivels and escapes. Mooney darts in looking for a takedown but Schartzmann gets double underhooks and turns Mooney into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Mooney. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schartzmann is trying to trip Mooney. He has hold of a leg but Mooney is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Schartzmann persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Schartzmann stays in close to Mooney's body and controls the position. Mooney is breathing heavily. Schartzmann's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Mooney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schartzmann on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Schartzmann prevents Mooney from getting back to his feet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Schartzmann controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Schartzmann clinches up with Mooney and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schartzmann leaning against his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Klaus Schartzmann dominated that round. The cut man is working on Josh Mooney's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Schartzmann gets a clinch. Schartzmann tightens his grip and picks Mooney up, before dumping him to the ground. Mooney manages to land in guard. Mooney working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schartzmann. Schartzmann engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mooney keeping moving, preventing Schartzmann from controlling successfully. Schartzmann controlling from the top position. Klaus Schartzmann has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schartzmann with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schartzmann slips nicely into half guard. Schartzmann perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Schartzmann has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schartzmann rushes Mooney and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mooney has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schartzmann is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mooney is trying to break the clinch but Schartzmann is controlling him. Schartzmann breaks the clinch.
Mooney fails in his attempt to clinch. Schartzmann lands a nice hook to Mooney's body. Mooney takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mooney tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Schartzmann manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mooney takes a jab right on the kisser.
Schartzmann closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schartzmann sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mooney is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Schartzmann is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Mooney is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mooney is trying to escape the position but Schartzmann is controlling the position. Schartzmann working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Schartzmann controls the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mooney dodges the ground and pound from Schartzmann. Schartzmann wants to control but Mooney is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Schartzmann taking a break here but Mooney is having none of it and regains half guard. Schartzmann content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mooney tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schartzmann swivels and escapes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Klaus Schartzmann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Josh Mooney's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Schartzmann rushes Mooney and presses him up against the cage. Schartzmann decides to pull guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Schartzmann. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Schartzmann wants to sweep but no luck. Schartzmann has control of Mooney's left arm, preventing Mooney from doing any damage. Schartzmann looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schartzmann trying to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schartzmann is controlling Mooney's posture. Schartzmann pushes Mooney off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schartzmann shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mooney is trying to defend but Schartzmann finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Schartzmann with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Schartzmann postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mooney to stand up. Schartzmann dives in and scores a takedown into Mooney's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schartzmann prevents Mooney from getting back to his feet. Mooney is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Schartzmann postures up.
Schartzmann slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Schartzmann is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mooney will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Schartzmann stands up and beckons Mooney to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schartzmann closes the distance and clinches. Mooney wants to break the clinch but can't.
Schartzmann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Schartzmann throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mooney tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schartzmann is in Mooney's guard. Mooney working for a triangle but Schartzmann defends it easily.
Schartzmann controlling from the top position. Josh Mooney has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Klaus Schartzmann is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Klaus Schartzmann comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schartzmann has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
