Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Endicott Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Clason! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clason digs a good hook to Johnson's body.
Clason cracks Johnson with an open hand slap. Clason scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Clason sprawls well. Clason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Clason lands with a nice body punch. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. Clason is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Clason lands a head shot. Johnson throws a poor cross that misses
and Clason connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A lazy left from Clason finds it's target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the liver by Clason. Beautiful body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clason stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Clason wants it to stay on the feet. Clason lands a jab. Clason scores with a jab. A jab from Clason finds it's way through Johnson's defenses.
Johnson is rocked! Clason has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clason sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Endicott Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Clason connects with a right that clearly hurt Johnson. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Clason proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Johnson collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Clason! John Clason bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
