Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katsuro Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cormac Gutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutz has chosen Everyday as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Katsuro Sato has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Katsuro Sato seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
34 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Katsuro Sato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sato misses with a kick to the body.
Sato doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sato scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gutz doesn't seem bothered though. Sato throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sato avoids the head kick by Gutz.
Sato closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Katsuro Sato has been cut. Sato throws out a leg kick but Gutz moves out of range and Sato only half commits. Gutz looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Cormac Gutz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sato moves out of range as Gutz strikes. Gutz scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A low kick from Gutz is predictable there and Sato counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sato not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sato trying to mount his opponent but Gutz defends it. Gutz is pressing down on Sato's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sato postures up and lands a big shot to Gutz's brow. Gutz keeping moving, preventing Sato from controlling successfully. Sato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gutz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gutz looking for a sweep. Not yet Gutz, not yet. Gutz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sato throws an elbow that misses. Gutz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sato's guard. Nice move by Gutz!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sato is trying to keep Gutz in close.
Sato is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gutz defends well. Gutz stays in close to Sato's body and controls the position. Sato is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gutz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sato wants to sweep here but Gutz controlling him for the moment. Sato is working hard here to advance position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sato is trying to keep Gutz in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gutz just misses with a punch to the body.

Gutz throws a solid leg kick but Sato takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gutz. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gutz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gutz moves into the clinch successfully.

That was a close round but I would say that Katsuro Sato will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Katsuro Sato's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Sato. Gutz does a little dance to reset his feet. Gutz scores with a nice strike. Sato lands an overhand right. Sato thows a leg kick but Gutz checks it and Gutz counters with an outside leg kick.
Sato looks to land a right hand but Gutz moved out of range. Sato throws a jab when Gutz was well out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Sato misses the target. Gutz scores with a punch to the head. Gutz on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sato thows a body kick. Gutz tries to catch it but that hurt him. Gutz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gutz misses with a straight left. Sato swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sato is defended easily by Gutz. Sato looks for a takedown but Gutz sprawls well. Katsuro Sato is winning the standup battle so far. Gutz looks to land a body kick but Sato moved away. Gutz moves out of range as Sato throws a body kick.
A head kick by Sato misses and Gutz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gutz stuns Sato with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sato throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gutz throws a body punch but Sato moves out of range. Sato swings for the body but Gutz moves out of range.
Sato throws a hook but Gutz blocks it. Gutz tries to clinch up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sato checks a leg kick. Gutz avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sato throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gutz on the side of the head. A decent looking body kick lands there for Gutz. Sato slips a straight right by Gutz. This has been an exciting period of action! Gutz throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Sato counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Sato prevents Gutz from improving his position. Gutz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sato is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gutz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sato's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sato's back! Sato is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Team Anarchy MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Gutz lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Sato hold on?!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Katsuro Sato overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gutz is looking to control Sato but Sato is wriggling around and keeping busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sato tries to roll but Gutz sticks to his back.
Gutz slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Sato covers up after that shot from Gutz.

A close second round but Cormac Gutz will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Katsuro Sato's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Gutz lands a leg kick that knocks Sato off balance momentarily. Gutz lands a nice shot that snaps Sato's head back.
Sato throws a wild body kick that Gutz sees coming a mile off. Gutz throws an overhand right that lands on Sato's shoulder, as Sato tries to avoid the shot. Gutz throws a right hand that misses
and Sato counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sato loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sato trying to control but Gutz is working from the bottom. Gutz is trying to control the position but Sato postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gutz is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Sato is pushing down on Gutz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gutz is fighting to maintain full guard but Sato has managed to sneak the leg through. Gutz is pressing down on Sato's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sato wants to control from the top but Gutz keeps moving. Sato is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gutz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Sato tries to free his leg and advance position but Gutz is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gutz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sato moves away.

Sato saw that one coming. Sato tries a low kick but Gutz avoids it. Gutz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sato.
