Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juha Mieto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Steele! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juha Mieto! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mieto lands a nice leg kick that just misses Steele's sensitive parts. A punch combination from Mieto misses. Mieto misses with a takedown attempt - Steele sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Steele fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mieto tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Steele swivels and escapes. Steele fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steele looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Steele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A slapping body kick lands there for Mieto. Steele moves out of range of the body kick from Mieto.
Mieto throws a nice inside leg kick. Mieto throws a nice outside leg kick. Steele takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mieto tries to clinch up. Steele checks a leg kick. Mieto throws a leg kick but Steele checks it. Steele rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mieto counters with an inside leg kick. Mieto decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Steele is looking to improve his position.
Steele is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mieto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mieto's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mieto trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Steele is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Steele is breathing heavily. Steele is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Mieto up.
Mieto rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Steele wants to free his trapped foot but Mieto is holding on for dear life with his legs. Steele throws a strike but Mieto avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Mieto trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Mieto working a defensive guard here.
Steele trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Steele working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Steele keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. James Steele has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juha Mieto. Steele throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Steele swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mieto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Steele lands a big head kick that sends Mieto to the canvas! Steele follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Steele!
