Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chalky White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Gu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chalky White! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Young Gu! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gu fails with a takedown attempt from distance. White takes a swing at Gu's ribcage but misses. White takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Gu looks to score with a jab to the body but White is just out of range. Gu thuds his right hand into White's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Young Gu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. White defending well as Gu loads up on a big left hand. Gu looks to score with a jab to the body but White is just out of range. Gu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but White was well out of range. Poor timing from Gu. White throws a nice looking combination but Gu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gu leaves White with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gu swings for the body but White moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gu manages to avoid it. White walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A looping hook to the body misses from White. Gu does a little dance to reset his feet. Gu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. White tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gu is in White's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gu trying to control but White is working from the bottom. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gu working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Gu wants to pass the guard but White is keeping the position. Gu sitting in guard, not really doing much. White tries to land a sweep but no joy. White is pulling down on Gu's head. It's preventing any offense from Gu, at least for the moment. White might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. White looking for a sweep. Not yet White, not yet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. White is working hard here to advance position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gu blocks a jab. Gu attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A jab lands there for White. Gu throws a lazy right hand but White sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gu throws out a loose jab but White uses good head movement to avoid it. White has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grappling Pro Helsinki in the buildup to the fight. Gu fails with a takedown attempt. White scores with a shot to the body.
Gu slips under a jab. Gu lands a nice hook to White's body. White takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Gu fails with a takedown attempt. White manages to retain guard. Gu postures up in White's guard and throws a big left but White blocks it. Gu won't allow White to sweep him here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. White keeping full guard, as Gu tries to pass.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Gu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Gu tries to land a leg kick but White saw it coming and moves away.
Gu gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A solid leg kick lands there for Gu.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. White misses with a wild combination.

Gu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed White's guard. White tries to roll over but Gu keeps him under control. Gu trying to pass the guard but White defending well. White is trying to control but Gu passes into side control!
Young Gu has got the better of the ground game so far. White can't do much from the bottom here. White tries to bench press Gu off him but Gu keeps the position.

Gu in side control lands a decent elbow. Gu wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working. Gu with the ground and pound but White regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Gu throwing shots but White is blocking nicely. Gu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. White keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. White won't allow Gu to pass to mount. White is trying to maintain the position but Gu is very close to passing his half guard. White is trying is best to control the position here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chalky White will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

White rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gu moves out of range and avoids them all easily. White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gu was well out of range. White connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Gu throws a leg kick but White sees it coming and checks it nicely. Gu gets a takedown into half guard. Gu throwing shots but White is blocking nicely.

Gu with shots to the head and body - White looks very uncomfortable down there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. White regains half guard. White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. White tries to avoid it but Gu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag White to the ground. White escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Some bone on bone action there as White checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. White fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gu manages to avoid it. Gu lands a leg kick that knocks White off balance momentarily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gu fails with a takedown attempt from distance. White connects with a body shot that sends Gu's belly button to the back. A looping hook to the body misses from Gu. White does a little dance to reset his feet. Gu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and White counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

White knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. White wants to get back to full guard. Gu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Young Gu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
