Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Mcdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jazmin Pinedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinedo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pinedo working the ground and pound.
You can see the frustration on Mcdonald's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pinedo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcdonald knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pinedo misses with the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pinedo in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Pinedo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Mcdonald tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Pinedo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Mcdonald tries to lock up and control but Pinedo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mcdonald wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Pinedo is riding his opponent, not letting Mcdonald buck him off.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pinedo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mcdonald has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Mcdonald is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pinedo gets his way!
Pinedo is trying to control but Mcdonald is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Pinedo throws a wild left hand from mount and Mcdonald manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Mcdonald looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mcdonald manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pinedo throwing strikes but missing.
Pinedo wants to pass the guard but Mcdonald is keeping the position.
Pinedo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mcdonald has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pinedo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Mcdonald counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mcdonald keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pinedo lands a right hook to the body.
Mcdonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pinedo tries to avoid it but Mcdonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pinedo to the ground. Pinedo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pinedo lands with a hook. Mcdonald tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mcdonald is rocked!
Mcdonald gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Pinedo points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Mcdonald wakes up just in time to hear Pinedo thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jazmin Pinedo!
