Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Marshall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Soto! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Soto as he avoids it easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Marshall throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Soto misses with an uppercut
and Marshall counters with a body kick that stops Soto in his tracks momentarily. Marshall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Soto is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marshall. Horrible takedown attempt by Marshall or perhaps it was just good defense by Soto, which made it look bad. A thudding body kick lands there by Marshall!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Marshall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marshall staying out of range there. Soto misses with a hook. Nice defenses there by Marshall. Marshall throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Soto's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marshall plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Marshall tries a head kick but it misses.
Soto misses with a right hand and Marshall counters by clinching up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall pulls guard successfully.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Soto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Marshall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Marshall tries to get out of the position. Soto stops Marshall from standing up. Soto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marshall has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Soto off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Soto closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like James Marshall has been cut. Soto dodges the punch combination from Marshall.
Soto stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Marshall closes the distance and clinches up with Soto, looking for a takedown. Marshall pushes Soto against the cage but Soto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Marshall is breathing heavily. Soto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Soto sends Marshall crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Soto is motioning to the referee to let Marshall up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Marshall is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marshall throws a body kick that misses. Oh Marshall is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Marshall is holding his hands too far apart here. Soto throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Marshall is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlos Soto!
