The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ee misses with a left hand
enabling LaMotta to counter with a crisp jab.
Ee throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ee, right into the meat.
Ee tries to score with a low kick but LaMotta moves his leg out of the way.
LaMotta comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ee tries to bum rush LaMotta with a series of wild strikes but LaMotta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ee throws a jab when LaMotta was well out of range.
Ee takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Eeazy Ee has been cut.
Ee fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but LaMotta is out of range.

Ee lands a really nice looking cross but LaMotta seems unphased.

LaMotta throws a looping overhand right but Ee ducks down to avoid it.
LaMotta avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

LaMotta is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That was a close round but I would say that Eeazy Ee will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

LaMotta misses with a short punch on the inside.
LaMotta is leaning against Ee and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
LaMotta pushes Ee back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from LaMotta in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

After the fight, Jake LaMotta was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
